History Atlanta Metropolitan College (AMC) is a state-supported, two-year, coed liberal arts college established in 1974. The original name, Atlanta Junior College, was changed to AMC to more accurately reflect the school\'s programs. The campus is situated on 57 acres of rolling hills. The school takes pride in providing support to its students through the Academic Support Center and the Devise of Learning Support Division. It offers several joint programs with Atlanta Technical Institute. AMC is part of the University System of Georgia.
