Whether you are a UAPB student or partner of the educational, business and industrial community, you will find relevant and challenging programs. Moreover, making possible unparalleled opportunities for the university and the neighborhood to be enhanced by the developments of each other is a $30 million campus master plan project, allowing UAPB the opportunity and responsibility to realize its full potential as a first-rate university--preparing students for their future lives as contributing professionals and citizens.
University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Dr Thelma B.Thompson
The campus is located on 620 acres of land. There are approximately 3,300 students enrolled; 93 percent are undergraduates. Students have various backgrounds and come from thirty states and fifty-five other countries. Fifty-five percent of the students live in on-campus housing. All students may keep cars on campus. UMES is located in the small town of Princess Anne on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The town dates back to 1733 and has many buildings and landmarks of historic interest. The quiet community environment is excellent for learning, yet it is only 3 hours by car from the abundant cultural and recreational facilities of Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Virginia Beach.
